His name is Sonny Boy. He is bold and curious and puts up with the Beast without batting an eye... he just pees in front of her food dish.

From Sunrise...
I read an article on CNN.com about face blindness. I have always had this problem but just figured everyone did.
Compared to what these people have described, mine is very, very mild but, yep, it describes me.
I have always just assumed everyone didn't recognize people they had just met or couldn't visually recall someone's face. I assumed everyone gets momentarily disoriented while driving and has to just keep driving until they recognize things again.
I never understood how people could give those police artists the descriptions that actually end up looking like the actual person. I figured it was a Hollywood exaggeration.
I have no trouble recognizing family and friends, but it is just now, after half a school year, that I would recognize the teachers from my school that I don't deal with on a daily basis at the local store.
I don't know why it is important to me that I have found this information. It doesn't change anything for me or help me in anyway. But it's validation.
Better late than never, right?
Okay, the Elko Calendar is on Lulu.com Like I said, I am not completely thrilled with it but it came out okay. I will send you previews of the photos to check out before you spend the money if you like.
I have updated the Vegas calendar to 2007 but the pictures are the same.
The "Expanding Horizons" calendar is the one with the Elko pictures.
Enjoy!

Dear Steph, Janet, Roger and Ann,
Here is my Christmas present to you.
This is my driveway. This is what I get to drive up to the past few days. Life is good.
P.S. I do not have enough excellent pictures to make up a calendar yet. I have some good pictures that "will do" but I don't feel good about letting someone pay for them - I use Lulu.com to make the calendar and they basically choose the price.
However - if you send me a snail mail address (iblori58@hotmail.com) I will send you one I have made using my desktop publishing program. That way you can decide if you want a "professional" looking copy, I'll send the pictures into Lulu.com and get one made. It doesn't cost me anything to send it to Lulu.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

The forecast is for light snow all day. This is what it looks like at 8:30am.

Well, no more snow but it hasn't gotten above freezing for very long so we still have white patches all over the place.
I am no longer a snow virgin since I have driven in the snow twice now. We bought snow tires for hubby's car and bought chains for mine. We drive mine when there's no snow on the blacktop. Hubby's is now ready for the days I have to drive to school in the snow.
My new personal low temp is 5 degrees - on Tuesday when I went to work. They opened the gym for the kids instead of having them on the playground before school.
I guess district policy is anything under 11 degrees, they bring the kids in. Otherwise, they play outside.
There is a school rule about NO SNOWBALLS but I think that is totally impossible to enforce so why try. As long as they don't hit ME I'm okay. :P
There is a thrift store in town I really like. It's organized and the things they sell are clean. I have modified my Las Vegas wardrobe fairly cheaply thanks to them - long sleeve shirts, sweat pants, pair of boots, jacket.
I don't mind the cold. The heater is now working well and I just love my pellet stove.
The temperature fluctuates more with the pellet stove but the pellets are cheaper than the propane (we know this because we had the stove turned off for 3 weeks waiting for the repair guy to look at the fan and our propane bill went WAY up) and there is just something comforting about having that flame- something primitive, I guess. That really surprises me about myself since I'm rather paranoid about candles and unplugging crockpots and stuff.
Life is peaceful. Work is keeping me busy and there's been no reported progress on mom's RV. I'm getting better at managing getting paid only once a month (although we did go quite overboard for Christmas). The house is painted; the flooring is down. The computers are set up and networked. We have prescriptions renewed and our glasses "updated". Carpeting will wait until Spring.
Jeff is looking into a job working for a company in town that delivers mail to outlying areas for the post office. They only need someone a couple days per week and provide a company vehicle. He could get a route 2 or 3 hours away but there are also routes closer to us. He doesn't mind driving and if they provide the vehicle, the miles don't really matter. The only problem is that once he starts working, he is so appreciated they always want him to work more hours. I am not quite ready to totally give up my house husband yet!
Since we moved, I have been saying how busy I was. Well, I guess I wasn't as busy as I could be because I got even busier.
The Brother-In-Law and Mother-In-Law are coming out from Vegas today to spend Thanksgiving so we have been pushing to get all the painting done and extra boxes, etc. into storage (well, in the shed) and the house cleaned.
I have a records review coming up at work in a week so I have been staying until 5 or 6 at night getting that done and stopping for fast food on the way home so hubby doesn't have to stop and cook.
I get a week off at the end of December so I hope to be all caught up by then! I really, really mean it!
The house is shaping up very nicely. Wood flooring throughout about 1/2. The new carpet will have to wait until after Christmas. Until then the old carpeting will have to do. We moved our computers into what was going to be my formal living room. There's more room and we definitely slpend more time on the computers than we would in a formal living room.
One of the things that has bothered me about this manufactured home (aka mobile home) is that the front door faces the "back" of the property and the back door (which enters into the utility room) is the main entrance.
Hubby came up with the idea of putting french doors into the sunroom (beside the utility room) and making that the main entrance complete with screened in porch. That will also have to wait until Spring but I really like the idea. I'm so smart for having married a "handy-man" :D
Well, time to go take a (another) picture of the sunrise and get going to work.
Life is Good!
